Welcome to Hyde Park Cats! We are a confederation of volunteers working in and around Chicago’s Hyde Park to help cats and kittens in need. All of our adoptable kitties live in loving foster homes. We received our 501©(3) status last year and have had over 500 adoptions since our founding in 2008.

We always need fosterers–more fosterers means helping more cats, and every person who fosters for us makes a difference in saving a life, or several!

If you are interested in donating, THANK YOU for helping us do what we do! We gladly accept donations through our pay pal account (link in upper right hand of this page, the golden paw print). We also welcome donations of food, litter, toys, scratching posts, etc. Open bags ok! If you have something to donate, contact hydeparkcats@gmail.com or on this page. We also receive donations via Parker’s, a natural dog and cat market in Hyde Park where they have a donation bin. This fabulous pet supply store offers discounts on items purchased for us.

If you are interested in volunteering, we’d love to hear from you. There are many ways to get involved, and we always need new volunteers to help out at events, transport cats, post flyers, and with many other aspects of cat rescue. Jolie is a darling kitten, around 6-7 months old. She was born in an alley but she thinks she’s a princess. She is playful, enjoys the company of other cats, and has learned to be the boss of at least one small dog. Jolie enjoys human company and snuggling but isn’t exactly a lap cat, although she may grow into that. She is a sweet companionable little girl with an outsize purr!  Interested in meeting Jolie?
