On Wednesday afternoon we admitted Francis McDormand to an emergency foster home, having received a call about a VERY pregnant grey and white cat who needed our help.

On Friday Francis McD gave birth to 6 kittens. We are so relieved that she was able to deliver her babies in a safe, warm, dark and quiet space, assisted by two human doulas.

Francis herself is little more than a kitten and will now have plenty of safety, food and support as she starts the hard work of caring for these babies.

If you’ll be wanting to adopt a kitten in 8 week’s time, put your order in now for these cuties – having been touched lovingly and gently by humans on their first day in the world, they are likely to be very friendly cats when they grow up. And you can see from these pix how friendly and loving mama is.

Thanks to Kimaya for telling us about Francis McD, to Mitch for transporting her, and to Sophie for giving emergency foster space for what she thought was one cat. And thank you to Dr Bailey at HPAC for giving us emergency advice over the telephone!

Anyone able to foster a mama and kittens should let us know now at hydeparkcatsadoptions@gmail.com !
