Hummus and Pita

Meet kittens Pita and Hummus! They are about 3 months old, as of Thanksgiving. Their fosterer writes: “These two kitties have really come into their own since we started fostering them after a TNR job in early November. They were too young to return back outside into the cold weather. They now romp and play with each other, and are comfortable with our dog (see photos, below!).

Hummus (lighter brown) is curious and loves exploring. He often carries the dog’s toys back to his side of the apartment! He is playful and enjoys interacting with people, rubbing on their legs and meowing for meals and attention! He will follow us around the apt when he’s not playing with his brother.

Pita (stripey and spotted dark brown) is on the shy side still, but purrs like a chainsaw when you pet him after a romp and a good meal. He also makes a sound like an old school telephone! He loves the dog’s bed, and is content to watch his brother’s crazy antics and join in from time to time.

The kittens are still very shy around people outside my husband and I, but we are working on it with friends and neighbors. I’m able to clip their nails without too much hassle. Hummus is 90% socialized at this point, initiating petting sessions with us, and Pita is around 80% but improving each day. 100% here would be lap cat that permits handling in all situations.”
