Beautiful Tawney is one of our newest intakes, as of April 26. She turned up for mealtime at a volunteer’s colony, a friendly, too thin cat without a home. She has been fully vetted and is ready to find her forever home. We think she is between 6-9 months old.
Her fosterer writes: “Tawney is a joy as a companion. She lands on my lap at every opportunity, or climbs on my shoulder snuggling against my ear. She’ll also hang out on the back of the computer chair or curl on the desk. Yet she never makes a fuss when I have to put her down. She might follow me around, but does not make a nuisance of herself. She’ll settle out of the way, watching what’s going on, or go off by herself to toss around a mouse. Affectionate, but not needy, she’s an easy, cooperative cat.
Tawney is not shy or fearful. She’s sharing space in my small apartment with a big black tomcat. At first she growled softly, warning him not to come too close. But in a couple of days they made friends. When both want the same territory at the same time, Tawney is not frightened away. She may decide to take her half out of the middle, but no fighting. (The tomcat is a gentleman.) She’s not aggressive. Even when captured, she was of course frightened, but never tried to bite or scratch.”
