We are very happy to report that Jezebel’s surgery today was a success. She is now back at her foster home sleeping it off.
We were able to raise enough money to cover the cost of removing both eyes, recommended by the specialist (although one was more urgent than the other). The vet who examined her today was pleased that both eyes were coming out, as she feared that the second eye would soon become a source of discomfort to Jezebel and possibly infection.
So thank you again to all the generous donors who made the double surgery possible!
Jezebel’s stitches will be removed in 2 weeks, and just in case she decides to remove them herself, we bought her a soft collar, as they are much more comfortable than the traditional stiff ones.
Thanks to Haley for looking after her, to Kristel for transporting her, and to Dr. Bailey and the staff at Hyde Park Animal Clinic. We wish you a speedy recovery, Jezebel! (Seen here, in a recent photo, catching some z’s.)
