Important update about the two events this weekend:

***Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Kriser’s adoption event on Sunday is cancelled.*** We will reschedule it, probably for September.

BUT the AWL visit on Saturday is still a go. We still need drivers or driver; one to pick-up the donations at Parker’s and possibly another to give a ride back to Hyde Park at 2:00 p.m., please let us know if you can help!

We have **two upcoming events** the weekend of August 23-24, including a volunteer day at a local shelter and an adoption event at a pet supply store. Read on for more details!

1) AWL VOLUNTEER DAY: Saturday, August 23rd, 12pm – 2pm

We are having a volunteer day at the Animal Welfare League’s Intake Facility (AWL), a shelter located at 6224 South Wabash. We have room for 10 volunteers. If possible, please bring some much needed items such as newspaper, used (clean) towels, bleach, dish detergent, paper towels, pet toys, food and treats. If you can’t make the visit, you can drop off the items and Parker’s at 1342 E 55th St Chicago, IL 60615 (773) 643-7387, and we will make sure that the items get to AWL. If we have enough volunteers, we can arrange for car pooling.

2) ADOPTION EVENT (Cancelled): Sunday, August 24th, 11am – 2pm

We have scheduled an adoption event at Kriser’s, a natural and organic pet store, located at 1103 S State Street in the South Loop. This is an opportunity to showcase one or more of our wonderful adoptable cats and to get the word out about HPC. We need volunteers to transport the adoptable kitties, set up/take down tables, interact with Kriser’s customers about the adoptable kitties and distribute HPC flyers. It’s not far from Hyde Park!
