Meet Jelly! When she came to us she was a skittish 6 year old cat found under a porch in Garfield Park. She’s been through a lot and does need patience, but she’s begun to come out of her shell and act more like the lovable weirdo she is at heart. She’s fairly low-maintenance as cats go – she’s independent and spends a lot of time alone under furniture or on windowsills. She’s very good at using the scratching post and the litter box, drinks a lot of water, and self-manages her food intake. She is however a very fluffy darling and does leave fur everywhere.
Jelly really likes to play! But she’s still getting used to humans and doesn’t like to be touched yet, so a laser pointer is her favorite toy, and she’d probably also love an automated mouse. She gets the zoomies in the evenings and chases her own tail or her own loose fluffs of fur. She is fairly jumpy, but also super smart and sneaky – she can fit into any space, no matter how small.
If you want an adorable little cryptid with scraggly teeth to haunt your home, and you’re willing to be patient with her as she slowly gets comfortable with new people and a new place, Jelly could be the bizarre ball of fluff for you!
