Today Raindrop died after a good satisfying snuggle and kiss session, never to know any more pain.
Several days after surgery it became clear that Raindrop’s prognosis was extremely poor. She never regained use of her paralyzed leg, and in fact she became very edemic and overall a bit weak. Worse, she did not have any control over her bladder or bowels. She would never be able to express her own bladder, which would lead to a lifetime of infections and pain.
With a heavy heart our volunteer held Raindrop during her last moments, and let her know that, during the time Hyde Park Cats knew her, we loved her. Thank you to everyone who gave in her name and kept her in their thoughts.
