VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers can help in many ways.
- FOSTERING: whether fostering long-term or short-term, 1 cat or many, our fosterers save lives and allow us to bring more cats into our program.
- DRIVING/TRANSPORT: We need drivers to take cats to/from veterinary appointments both in and outside of Hyde Park. This is one of our most important volunteer needs! Volunteers also transfer supplies and store donations.
- TNR: We are always on the lookout for people who want to help with TNR (trap-neuter-return) and feeding established cat colonies. We can train you. For TNR missions, we are most in need of people who have access to a car because many of our requests are outside Hyde Park. If you are interested in TNR, please email Susan at chandler.susan@sbcglobal.net. If you are interested in feeding a cat colony, contact Woodie at wbennett.nu@gmail.com. Sign up also to our TNR email listserv at hyde-park-cats-tnr@googlegroups.com.
-
EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING: We fundraise through bake sales and other events. Are you a baker? No, but you can sit at a table and sell baked goods? Perfect! We need you. Our annual calendar sales also require logistical support such as tabling, bringing calendars to stores, and mailing.
- ADVERTISING: Help us promote HPC on social media or by creating or posting fliers! Volunteers are also needed for community outreach and educational opportunities.
- ADOPTION SCREENERS: We always need volunteers to call references for foster and adoption applicants. Let us know if this sounds like a job for you!
To get started volunteering, email Volunteer Coordinator Melissa at mlanderson6@wisc.edu and let us know a bit about your experience and where you’d most like to help out!
