SUPPLY WISH LISTS:

Find our Chewy wishlist to donate food, litter, and other supplies: https://www.chewy.com/g/hyde-park-cats_b101053278.

Or contact hydeparkcats@gmail.com if you’d like to donate the following:

  1. Food and litter are the staples of cat care, so it can be hard to keep them in stock! Fosterers most often pay for food and litter themselves. We are so glad when we can provide them with either or both:
    1. FOOD: wet or canned food is always welcome! We can’t accept dry food donations but we can put you in touch with folks who feed feral colonies.
    2. LITTER: all kinds of litter, litter pans, scoops, and litter related items like mats and odor control/baking soda products. However, we cannot take self-cleaning litter systems or Breeze type litter systems.
  2. ENRICHMENT: simple toys like mice, balls, feathers on sticks, small scratchers (vertical and horizontal, permanent and disposable), catnip stuffed toys, treats, cat beds, laser pointers, and collapsible tunnels. We are limited in our storage space and cannot accept large cat trees. Scratchers may be limited based on size and storage availability.
  3. GROOMING SUPPLIES: all kinds of brushes, hairball supplements, grooming wipes
  4. CARRIERS: secure hard-sided carriers only (NO soft-sided carriers); some crates or kennels depending on storage availability. We cannot take items that are not completely secure for transporting a cat.
  5. MEDICATION, SUPPLEMENTS, FLEA TREATMENTS, FELIWAY: we take all of these
  6. COLLARS, leashes, harnesses: we will take these, but they are not used very often by our fosterers
  7. TOWELS, SHEETS AND BLANKETS are not items Hyde Park Cats can use, but the many Chicago shelters always are in need of them: Chicago Animal Care and Control at 2741 Western Avenue; Animal Welfare League at 6624 S Wabash; Anti-Cruelty Society at 169 W. Grand, to name just a few. They all have wish-lists on their websites.

Thank you for helping us help cats in need!
