Ridiculously photogenic heart throb Julius, AKA papa Meringue, is a cat who ” immediately loves anyone who rubs him under the ears.” He is also ready to go to his forever home! Julius came to us though TNRing (trap, neuter, return) earlier this year. As often happens, we trap cats who turn out to be friendly like Julius but who don’t have a home. He is now with his very own a HPC foster family.
This big orange and white love is the kind of cat who’s ridiculously handsome and he knows it. His fosterers write: “He seems to be filling out nicely, eats well and his coat is clean and starting to shine. He is one of the most dog-like and companionable guys we have met. Julius would likely do best in a home where he can be the only star. He certainly will live up to the role.
Julius is handsome, athletic, playful, and very curious. He wants to know EVERYthing you are doing and makes sure he does so by following you wherever you go. He is a true people cat. He enjoys sitting with you while you work on your computer or watch TV, or to wait patiently on the floor if you are cooking in the kitchen. He loves being petted, brushed, and even bathed, so long as he is getting affection, he is quite the purr monster. He loves snuggling with you wherever you go.
Julius is also a very funny and quirky fellow. He will “hunt” a fishing pole playtoy until he is panting and out of breathe. He likes fighting with the air and sounds that come from the dishwasher when you run it. He will leap around in front of the machine and give you quite a gymnastics show. And although at first he was reluctant to approach the windows in our high rise condo, he now enjoys peering out at the cars and runners as they pass. Julius loves his jute scratching post and jumping into the air when he gets to play with his toys.”
And in a more recent update: “He has definitely made himself at home here. He greets us at the door after work every day, ready to cuddle. He is a very dog-like cat…Even the way he plays is very dog-like, he likes to hold on to his toys like a dog with a bone instead of batting it around like a cat. It’s really adorable. He’s also very friendly and immediately loves anyone who rubs him under the ears.”
Julius has been fully vetted–neutered, chipped, tested neg/neg for Fiv/ Felv, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and treated with Revolution.
