Colonel Brandon

Adoptable Colonel Brandon is an incredibly friendly and polite baby. He lives for head and belly scratches, and is more often on his back showing his belly and making biscuits than not. He’s rather shy at first, and will startle and hide at sudden movements or loud sounds, but is incredibly curious. If you sit with him quietly for a few minutes, he’s bound to come out and ask for pets!

He seems to especially seek attention from other cats, and would likely do well with another cat around his age. He has super tidy litter manners (will spend up to half a minute making sure all is completely covered) and has been eating his wet and dry food well! He LOVES mouse toys and scratching posts. Absolutely no aggressive behavior (does not hiss, growl, swat, etc. even when scared); he’s a sweet gentle soul.

Colonel Brandon has had more uncertainty in his young life than the average cat. He’s only about a year old, but has spent at least a couple of months outside fending for himself—and he was not great at it. His luck changed when his feral colony caretaker realized that the shy boy hiding in a feral shelter was actually a very frightened friendly cat. It may take Colonel Brandon a bit of time to fully decompress and learn to trust that he will never have to face the mean streets again, but his fear never turns to aggression. He is incredibly gentle, likes to touch noses, loves being petted and brushed, and will roll over not only to display his soft belly, but actually allows you to give him belly rubs!

He’s a big fan of meat tube squeezies, has very good litterbox manners, and is just starting to figure out what toys are for. He startles easily and will hide when he’s afraid, so he would be happiest in a quiet home where he can acclimate at his own pace. He’s an expert biscuit maker and will slow blink back at you. He even seems to enjoy his fosterer singing to him (he has incredibly low musical standards).
