Samantha, a playful 4 month old black and white kitten, and Tiger Joe, an older charming male tabby, came to us about 3 weeks ago during a TNR project. They are in a foster home together, and both are now are looking for a forever home!

Fostermom reports that they are doing great: “Just 3 short weeks ago Samantha was a frightened unsocial kitten living on the street and today she is a kitten that loves to play with wand toys and be pet on her hind quarters.  She is still very shy when meeting new people but once a toy comes into play she comes out of her shell. She definitely craves the attention of another kitty.

She loves to be with Tiger and smuggles with him every chance she gets.  Tiger on the other hand is more independent and sometimes just wants his own space. I think being in a home with another cat would be a big confidence builder for her. For the last week my sweet pitbull girl, Ada, goes in once a day to say hi to both Tiger and Samantha. Tiger is super chill and a dogs presence doesn’t bother him in the least. Samantha is another story. Each day she gets a little better but still growls and keeps her distance when Ada or my chihuahua are in the room. With time and some more confidence I think she’ll adapt to dogs.

Everyday is a new day with Samantha. Each day you have to remind her in the morning that she actually enjoys being pet and likes people. Once she gets comfortable again for that day then more & more of her playfulness and personality come out.

Tiger is just awesome! He is super chill and loves to be pet. He happily plays with his favorite wand toy and an occasional, good old fashion, shoelace. We just made a thrilling discovery over the holiday weekend….Tiger goes crazy for a laser point! He darts around the hardwood floor like a kitten. Both Sam and Tiger tolerate being picked up but its not their favorite activity. The only time either one of them meow is when I come in the room with their meal. They are both wonderful house guests.” If you are interested in meeting Joe or Samantha, don’t hesitate to contact us at hydeparkcatsadoptions@gmail.com
