Adoptable Violet is an extremely sweet 1-year-old, although she is still a little scared of people. Violet will shy away from visible hand motions, but if you scoop her up and place her on your lap she loves pets and will immediately start purring and making biscuits. She even loves to have her belly rubbed! She is slowly starting to come out of her shell at her foster residence and enjoys playing with toys by herself and sleeping in her fosterer’s bed at night. Her foster residence has two small dogs, but Violet has kept her distance. With a little time and patience, Violet could be an ultimate lap cat.
Violet has led a hard life. She was born on the streets in a cat colony and once rescued, tested positive for FeLV. Many cats who test positive for FelV never exhibit symptoms and can live long normal lives. It is important that FeLV+ cats like Violet live only with other FelV positive cats, although they can live safely with dogs and other pets without risk of transmission.
