Chipps is a handsome young male white and brown tabby. A caring community member found him one cold night in Chicago, brought him inside, and got in touch with Hyde Park Cats. He was very dirty and very hungry and very grateful to find food and warmth.

Chipps has been fully vetted–neutered, chipped, vaccinated, and tested–and he is currently residing at Parker’s, a great local pet supply store in Hyde Park, at 1342 East 55th Street. Chipps loves having visitors, he is affectionate and enjoys being with people. We also know he is ok with dogs, having met several dogs at the store.

We had a record turnout yesterday at our monthly AWL volunteer day! HPC volunteers, including a group from UChicago PAWS, provided love and affection to the shelter dogs and cats. They played with them, cuddled them, and helped out with needed housekeeping such as folding towels and newspapers and replacing the cat scratchers in the cages. Also a big thanks to all the volunteers for bringing some joy to these animals in need.

Our next visit is tentatively scheduled for February 17th, please let us know if you are interested in volunteering then. We also bring donations, so if you can’t make it but have something to donate let us know! We often bring newspapers, towels, and donated food or toys. Their wishlist is here

When we have foster space, we also are sometimes able to take cats from AWL into our foster system. If you can foster, please let us know!
