Join us this year and represent HPC in the annual Hyde Park 4th of July parade on 53rd street! The parade is intended to be participatory– a ton of people, including organizations, individuals, families, etc. Afterwards there are lots of activities and food vending in Nichols Park.
Every year, a group of HPC volunteers march in the parade with a small banner and hand out flyers, etc. We also volunteer afterwards running games in Nichols Park. Last year it was the bouncy house, the year before the ring toss. It is a lot of fun to be part of this big neighborhood event.
Both helping and marching help us be more visible as part of the community, and to meet potential fosters & adopters. This is all family friendly and a great time!
We need volunteers for before or after the parade to help out with set-up as well as with running games in Nichols Park afterward. If you’d be interested in helping with set-up (~9-11 am), marching (~11-1) or activities (~1-3), please let us know as soon as possible! hydeparkcats@gmail.com
