Adoption round up!

We are thrilled to report that the past few weeks have seen a flurry of adoptions. We’d like to take a moment to celebrate the following cats and kittens who went to their forever homes or will be going soon.

Some of the lucky kitties, like Myron, Leroy, and Frieda, were recent intakes who met their forever people almost as soon as we posted them. Kittens Mini P., Foxy, Lucie, Samoa, Bebop, Piaf, and Coraline were also scooped up.

Others in our program, like Critter, were senior cats who had been with us for a little longer, waiting patiently to find their very special forever peoples. For Peanut and Pearlie the extra wait was worth it as we made sure this bonded pair will be able to stay together. Kitten Bobbie, young adult Allie J., and senior Inara, meanwhile, were adopted by their fosterers, who couldn’t bear to part with them.

Many of our happy endings are only possible because of co-operation with the cat’s finder. We don’t have space to help all the cats who need us, and we can rarely admit cats to our adoption program at short notice. Whenever we can, we work with patient and caring finders who serve as bridging fosterers. They provide safe harbor for cats like Pippin until we can admit them to one of our foster homes.

We also had some incredible stories of recovery and the power of rescue. Santina and Peter both came to us with serious injuries (a badly broken leg and pelvis respectively) which required vet care and much TLC. Michael came to us through TNR work (trap neuter return), as did Hummus and Pita. Although shy at first, Hummus and Pita soon warmed up to being indoor kitties. Now ALL are going to warm, loving homes!

We couldn’t be happier for our kitties. Thank you to our fosterers and our adopters for making these stories possible–as well as the original finders who contacted us about these cats in need. We couldn’t do it without you.

Thanks too to our donors – anyone who buys a calendar or a goodie from a bake sale or who sends in a check of any size. Many of these cats have needed additional medical care that our adoption fee doesn’t come close to covering, and your generosity alone makes this possible.

Finally, thanks to anyone who has spread the word about HPC. We are a small group powered entirely by volunteers and donations. If you spread the word, you are (a big!) part of our advertising budget!

New intake Cayenne!

Cayenne is very affectionate. He loves touching nose to nose and rolls on his back for belly rubs. His fosterer writes that he will be the type to follow his person around the house and to be in the same room whenever he can.

He has immediately taken to the litter box and sleeps on top of the bed in the extra bedroom. Cayenne is a confident and outgoing cat!

He will be vetted soon–if you are interested in meeting him let us know at hydeparkcatsadoptions@gmail.com
