Meet Trevi!

Trevi 1 Trevi 2
Recent intake Trevi is a friendly, sweet, sometimes cheeky orange and white tabby who is happy to accept head scratches all day long.

She has a thick, soft coat, some beautifully delicate white facial markings, a white bib and paws. She responds excitedly to the presence of people with leg rubs, purring, begging for pats and finger-licking. She loves food and while she’s a bit overweight (we’re working on it and she’s responding well to the change from free feeding to set meals), she’s an active cat who can move with speed and easily jump up to windowsills.

She plays eagerly with string toys and balls and likes her catnip chew toy. While she’s doing well in her own room as we try to integrate her into a home with another foster cat, she adores human attention. We suspect she will prove to be a snuggly cat.

Adopt Ratner!

Adoptable Ratner is cute cute cute. His fosterer writes in this great update: “He has been with me for six months now and it’s been a delight to get to know him as a sweetheart with a streak of playfulness (although occasionally he’s a ball of energy with a streak of sweetheart). He is a friendly, outgoing and easygoing cat who greets me with meows when I get home and is always happy to see visitors who provide new legs to rub up against. He enjoys sitting at windows – even more so now that the weather has warmed up – and spends a lot of the day at his favourite window ledge waiting for something to happen and telling me about it when it does.

He charms everyone he meets from the vet nurse, to the family who cat-sit for me (they report he is good with their young child) and even my somewhat cat-averse parents who actually enjoyed sharing the apartment with him.

I can count on one hand the number of times he has sat on my lap and he’s not so sure about belly rubs, but Ratner shows his affection in other ways. He curls up next to me so that he’s in contact with some part of my body or may even drape himself over an available limb or torso. While he’s not always in the mood for a pat, there’re usually a couple of opportunities in the day to give him a good head scratch and chin rub – and he enjoys being thoroughly brushed. He also likes being picked up and hanging out on my shoulder for a few minutes, especially if it means a better view out the back door or window.

He took instantly to wearing a harness and leash and loves being able to spend time on the back porch with me. He’s quite intrepid and I think he would enjoy going for walks too. He enjoys chasing after bouncy balls, especially when he can run or jump full pelt after them into a cardboard box or paper bag. String toys are another favourite.”
